Doctors Without Borders (MSF) provides emergency medical aid to people in crisis, regardless of their background. The organisation operates with full independence in conflict zones, during epidemics and in the aftermath of disasters — particularly in places where healthcare is otherwise absent. Teams of medical professionals and logistics experts often work around the clock at the heart of the storm. Their goal is to save lives, alleviate suffering and expose injustice. Worldwide, MSF’s assistance makes the difference between life and death. Without the support of donors and funders, MSF is powerless.

role of the website

A well-functioning, user-friendly website is essential to MSF’s work. The primary role of the website is online fundraising and lead generation. In addition, the website must increase the engagement of existing donors, communicate the impact of MSF’s work, and provide up-to-date information to all target audiences.

MSF’s brief

MSF asked us. to completely rebuild the website artsenzondergrenzen.nl, with the goal of increasing the flexibility and usability of the CMS, improving conversion to donor status, and enhancing how information is communicated. MSF was looking for a reliable long-term digital partner — an agency that works pragmatically, with short lines of communication and a focus on security, accessibility and performance optimisation. The organisation chose us. based on our proven experience with fundraising (non-profit) organisations and our in-depth knowledge of the specific challenges and needs of this sector.

us. developed an integrated, scalable and secure solution for the new platform. With this standardised solution, MSF benefits from the experience we gained developing fundraising websites for other non-profit clients with a similar profile, wishes and needs.

The new online platform allows MSF to run campaigns independently, quickly and in line with the latest fundraising trends. The customer journey for online donor and lead acquisition has been simplified and improved. The design is mobile-first (in terms of layout and speed), and the site’s content is presented using reusable components, making it easy and cost-efficient to expand. The modular structure makes it straightforward to implement changes when new requirements arise, both on the front end and in the CMS and external integrations.
