The Aidsfonds aims for a world where no one dies from AIDS and where people are sexually healthy, allowing everyone to love freely and without fear. The website plays an important role in achieving goals in terms of fundraising, lead generation, community engagement, informing information seekers, and communication in general. The current (not mobile-first designed) website is outdated and does not function optimally on mobile devices. Additionally, there is dissatisfaction with the performance of the current CMS. This is a great challenge for us.
why us.?
Aidsfonds chose us. because of our experience with fundraising platforms. The fund was looking for an agency with short lines of communication that would continue to provide support and thought leadership even after the delivery, while also paying attention to the security and optimization of site performance.
working method
us. assists many charitable and fundraising organizations, often with the emphasis on online fundraising. Our ideal working method is continuous collaboration between the client, experts, and tools, with clearly documented goals that are constantly being adjusted and developed. We have successfully implemented this working method in our collaboration with Aidsfonds.
result
We built a new fundraising platform for Aidsfonds based on the NGO-suite. A new strong foundation, which will be further expanded over the coming years based on the test-driven optimization process in collaboration with partner SDIM (see below).
After the website of Stichting Vluchteling, the new aidsfonds.nl is the second website we have placed in our renewed cloud infrastructure, set up in the Google Cloud Platform (GCP). us. is investing in the development of various solutions in the GCP in the coming years, so our customers can benefit from the many innovations, scalability, and reliability of this platform.
Together with Google, we are developing new opportunities for charitable and fundraising organizations, including in the area of (generative) Artificial Intelligence. The choice for GCP offers many advantages; both from a development, security, monitoring, and servicing perspective. Advantages that enable us to maintain our high-quality standards and save a lot of time—and therefore costs—for our customers.

GCP
Aidsfonds’ ‘cloud native’ platform runs entirely on the Google Cloud Platform. This platform allows us to focus on the application (and not the infrastructure). The cloud native solution ensures stability, speed (operational and development) and scalability.
imgix
Thanks to imgix’s real-time image processing, all images are always optimally displayed for all devices, in terms of compression and size. In addition, imgix automatically provides the correct crops with the help of smart facial recognition algorithms.
Wordpress
The basis for the CMS is WordPress. On top of that: customization to make wordpress suitable to run serverless in the GCP cloud. Images are served from the imgix CDN.
test-driven optimization
With the implementation of a test-driven optimization process, we have focused on optimizing the conversion rate of the website. This process is led by partner SDIM through monthly optimizations. The optimization, partly through the use of CRO (Conversion Rate Optimization), leads to an increase in the percentage of visitors who take a desired action (such as making a donation, filling out a form, etc.). With CRO, user behavior is continuously analyzed, and we test different variations of the website. We make decisions based on generated data to improve the conversion rate. After each test, the site is optimized monthly based on the winning variant.
